RnD - Water Droplets
The basic idea behind this exercise is to create better condensation droplets for product shots
This is a Houdini solution, it focuses on the correct curvature of the droplet when in contact when the surface and also the shape of the droplet itself.
The next step will be to generate the simulated version, where droplets collide with each other forming streams downwards. But this is for another time
I also incorporated some rendering into this, creating a custom shader with abbe dispersion, water IOR of 1.33, and thin film, reflective and refractive caustics where also shaded and calculated, everything was rendered with single light HDRI’s
